Handwritten answer checking, as an API.

Your learners write on paper; your product lives online. Send Evalezy an answer sheet by file or URL and get back per-question marks, feedback and a checked copy in red pen, ready to show in your app.

The problem today

OCR alone fails on handwriting

Printed-text OCR cannot read student handwriting, and a grader fed garbage text invents answers.

A score is not a product

Learners want to see their own page marked up, not a JSON blob turned into a table.

Building it in-house is a project

Page reading, answer location, rubrics, consistency, annotation and retries are each a project of their own.

How it fits your workflow

  1. 1.

    Create an assessment

Send questions and marks, or a question paper to read into questions.

  2. 2.

    Set evaluation criteria

Send your rubric per question, or ask for a generated one and edit it.

  3. 3.

    Send answer sheets

Upload the PDF or pass a URL, with your own student id and an optional webhook.

  4. 4.

    Get results

Poll the status endpoint or receive a webhook: marks per question, feedback, the student's answer as read, and a link to the checked PDF.

What changes

  • Per-question marks, feedback and criteria in JSON
  • A red-pen checked PDF to show learners
  • Failed and unreadable sheets are not billed
  • ₹1 / $0.01 per page, same as the dashboard

Worked example

20,000 answer sheets a month, 5 pages each

20,000 copies × 5 pages × ₹1

₹1,00,000

$1,000.00 outside India · excl. GST · failed copies free

Frequently asked questions

How do I get API keys?+

API access is enabled per account. Request access on the demo page with your expected monthly volume and we will set you up.

Is it synchronous?+

No. Checking a copy takes minutes, so evaluations are asynchronous: you get an id straight away, then poll the status endpoint or receive a webhook when the check completes.

What do I get back?+

Status, total marks, and for each question: marks awarded, maximum, the student's answer as read, feedback and the criteria breakdown, plus a URL to the checked copy PDF.

See your own copies checked.

Book a 20-minute demo. Bring a question paper and a few scanned answer sheets, and watch Evalezy check them in red pen.
